A Note from the Above the Clouds Family

The last few weeks has left our global community reeling from the outbreak of COVID-19, which continues to have massive and sustained impacts across the planet. Here at Above the Clouds we are closely monitoring the situation as it continues to evolve, remaining in close contact with our team members, partners and travelers while we keep ourselves apprised of the guidelines laid out by the CDC, WHO, US State Department, and local authorities. 

Our mission has always been to share parts of the world that we know intimately and that have shaped who we are as people. We’ve dedicated our lives to travel and have developed strong relationships with the people we’ve met along the way. During this challenging time of global suspension, we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge how grateful we are for the support of our community, partners, travelers, and friends around the world.

Travel Plans

While travel is our passion and livelihood, we support and appreciate the continued efforts by the global travel community to halt all unnecessary travel in order to help combat and slow the spread of this virus. Recently, an advisory against travel has been issued; however, given the rapid evolution of this global situation and the many months before any of our travelers would even be scheduled to depart, we will continue to keep up to date with the international recommendations as they are released throughout the rest of this year.

We strongly recommend any and all travelers, those on one of our custom itineraries or those heading out independently, to stay aware of the advisories and statements released by the experts at the CDC, the WHO, their home governmental bodies along with that of the intended destination.

For over 39 years nows, Above the Clouds has been privileged and grateful to share in your adventures to some of the most beautiful corners of the Earth. Connecting with people, discovering new truths, chasing magic, and building community has been at the forefront of our operations from the beginning. We believe that now, more than ever, is a time to continue embracing these ethos in our own communities at home and abroad — by taking care of one another, by staying informed and following best practices, and by making positive contributions to the greater good.

As we wade through these uncharted waters together, the team at Above the Clouds is deeply committed to providing any and all support we can to travelers, team members, partners, family, and friends in all parts of the world. We look forward to connecting with many of you virtually over the next few weeks and months — and, as we look toward recovery and rebuilding, we look forward to following our wanderlust once again out in the mountains, on the trail, or wherever serendipity may lead.
